Session 008

  • The person who's email was deleted suggested that the giant battery that the GRB was contained in could power the entire "Intervention."
  • Lasani attempts to give some of the bodies their last rights.
  • We take scans of all the bodies.
  • Noelle is starting to extract hardware from the terminals.
  • Lasani continues to explore the facility.
  • Some sort of component in the hardware that has a runic symbol on it.
  • Inside of the machine there appears to be a communicator as well as a converter that translates electrical energy to arcane and vice-versa.
  • The communicator light remains on when disconnected from the electrical converter but blinks off when removed from the direct source line.
  • Emmett is exploring and poking around curiously.
  • Emmett finds a freezer filled with seed samples.
  • Evidently one of them is from Perdra sunflowers.
  • This is for Class A samples only. We've taken a couple of Class Bs and sent them off-world to 47 and 21.
  • Noelle is able to connect to the devices via her neural connection and start extracting data.
  • Emmett manages to bust open a safe with a crowbar.
  • She finds some kind of energy gauntlet weapon.
  • Battery storage area is underwater.
  • The room Emmett found the weapon in is labeled Director of Security.
  • Noelle explores some of the rooms. Several of them have little dolls/carvings of various races.
  • The director's room has a chest with a few spare uniforms; sky blue with a small patch on the right breast.
  • There's a terminal in here as well.
    • It's not connected to the facility's network.
    • There's a selection in the boot; one labeled under a name (Sethene).
    • The other is labeled Start Here.
  • Noelle selects the latter.
    • Sethene was aware that she and her crew were never going to survive
    • She informs me that the crystal can be safely disengaged from the containment apparatus.
    • "You most likely have access to some form of ship that works, presumably without magic."
    • "Anything you find, you are welcome to share. There is no privacy among the dead."
    • "None of the bodies carry the Blight."
    • "Their preferred methods of funeral and last rites are recorded in personnel logs."
    • "I hope our sacrifices are worth it. I hope you'll forgive us for what we've done."
    • Sethene Cante Skarsa II
    • Name/City/Planet (or system).
    • A handbook for the facility's operation.
    • Backups of crew files.
    • A picture of five people; a couple look vaguely avian -- a little more plump than Algata, another looks vaguely Perdra (closer to a kobold), and a being that looks like a hualei with the little studs and all, and a human. They're stacked in a pyramid structure against a net overlooking a city of jade-green verdancy, with towers of white and blue clawing at the sky. It's labeled 'Visit to Sangixa'.
    • She suggests that the DNA samples ought to be viable but the neural imprints likely will not be.
  • Most of the people want to be cremated.
  • One requested that their name be placed within the Annals of the Congress; the Congress of the Conjunction.
  • We head down to try and find the crystal to retrieve it.
  • Secondary coolant is failing and, as such, heat is being vented in gouts of flame from places it shouldn't be.
  • The flame is roughly 12,000°F. Our suits can withstand roughly 2,000°F for 4 seconds.
  • Noelle dips in to attempt to perforate a coolant line.
  • She succeeds.
  • The passage cools enough to pass through.
  • Noelle asks Lasani to stay at the start for safety and possibly-maybe-kinda flirts just a little bit.
  • Noelle disengaged the crystal connectors and removes the crystal from its casing.
  • It's a bit bigger than a football.
  • We head out of the facility and make it outside.
  • Cadriae hugs Noelle. Noelle makes the mistake excellent choice decision to mention that she can't breathe and Cadriae basically throatfucks her to provide oxygen the direct route.
  • Noelle does not know how to process these feelings and focuses on taking the Ragnarok back to the Embassy.
  • We collect some more of the terminal equipment from the facility and finish the burial rites, then let Cadriae review some of the floral samples.
  • Two of them are a pre-floral sample of olassa seeds.
  • Noelle is attempting to wire up the comms array to the ship. It'll take some time.
  • It takes about five days to return to the system with Blackout Station.
  • We turn in our weapons to the same urodyla, Padyl.
  • Max was evidently soliciting people to attempt a rescue crew.
  • We'll probably want to make a very verbal fuss about nuking the place to get people to leave it alone.
  • We turn over one of the comms units to Feathers of Rust, who wires it up.
  • She is able to get Tyza properly aware with the technology.
  • Apparently, there's rumors that Accord operatives are sniffing around close to Blackout station.
  • Noelle turns over the other comms module and the converter for the sake of helping Feathers of Rust.
  • She located some signatures in the wreckage of a former White Fleet shipyard; a large vessel accompanied by a couple of smaller ones. They're running as silent as possible. The largest vessel appears to match the profile of an Algatan home ship.
  • In SW14, there's a small amount of comms chatter using the Aries Initiative protocols; within the past two days it turned to a distress beacon belonging to an Algatan vessel.
  • In the proximity of SW13, there are a number of ships that are undoubtedly White Fleet; two corvette class and a handful of fighters. Two of them are jump-capable of heavy fighters. They seem to be undertaking some kind of cleanup in the system. They're towing something into the gravity well of the gas giant.
  • We make a fuss out of how we bombed the place and then went and grabbed some drinks.
  • After getting drunk, we return to a notification on one of the terminals where Noelle sent out the message from. "Partial failure: Recipient unavailable at secondary node."
