Session 005
- Emmett is going to try to lure the thing away.
- The thing doesn't seem to be very smart.
- Emmett finds Isha and picks her up in a piggyback ride to get her away from the giant bug.
- Emmett runs into a branch and it tears out her septum piercing.
- Emmett scoots right past (x1) the thing.
- Isha manages to get a hit in on the thing. It seems surprised that food bites back.
- Emmett & Isha are trying to get the thing to run off a cliff.
- Isha feels like there two of them.
- Noelle gets antsy about sitting there and hops into the Fenrir. As her shields come online, she can hear another discharge from the anti-air but it can't make it through the trees.
- Isha manages to deal some additional damage and the thing finds her too spicy (x1).
- Emmett baits the thing into jumping over the cliff.
- Noelle picks up Emmett with her fighter to prevent her from falling.
- Emmett jokingly refers to the thing as a Scorpio when it starts to try climbing back up out of spite. Until otherwise documented, it's a Tarantula SW13-C72 Scorpius.
- A bunch of vines claw the thing until it falls off finally.
- The vines seem to form into a ball and move upwards.
- There's a bunch of pink, blue, and white flowers that look gorgeous and deadly in the mass.
- The vines seem to tap the glass and then respond when Noelle says not to.
- Noelle sets the fighter down.
- It touches our faces and then retreats into a humanoid shape with cyn-like horns.
- The mass is extremely expressive and touchy.
- It - she? - offers out some vaguely pollen-like golden powder.
- She encourages Noelle to breathe it in.
- When Noelle does, they can understand.
- She refers to the precursor ruins as the "Embassy" and talks to us, until there's a woodpecker-adjacent sound that seems to startle her.
- There's a strange human-sized butterfly-like creature with a sharp beak on a tree above the ship.
- It attempts to fight her off.
- She jabs the creature with a thorn on one of her floral vines.
- Lasani joins in on the mental connection party.
- She offers to take us somewhere she refers to as her 'observatory'. We leave the Fenrir behind.
- There's a cracked tree that she's carved out to form a home.
- She built this observatory to watch the stars. Her people don't usually build things.
- She's got star charts and drawings of phases of the planets moons, aided by a rudimentary telescope that she created.
- Her spore-based telepathy seems to be capable of communicating concepts as well as distance.
- She effectively has knowledge on-par with 17th-century astronomy.
- Noelle fact-checks some of her measurements.
- Her name is Cadriae and her species is referred to as olassa.
- She suggests we spend the night at the observatory since it's most likely the safest place on the planet.
- There aren't many creatures with bones on the planet other than what Cadriae refers to as brachiosaurs.
- Noelle discusses shift and skip drives with Cadriae.
- Cadriae refers to subdimensional transit as traveling through the base states, which is a theory as a part of alchemy.
- The olassa theorize that magic flows from the base states and forms into life, imbued into creatures as soon as they are born.
- Emotion draws magic from the base states and shapes it.
- Evidently there are theories that the chydir were the first spacefaring race but they reverted for some reason.
